POINT FUND GROWS TO $20,000 FULLY GUARANTEED FOR 10 RACE 410 SPRINT CAR SERIES.
YORK HAVEN, Pa.: BAPS Motor Speedway General Manager Kolten Gouse had a list of things he wanted to focus on during the offseason.
Improvements to the facility were obvious near the top. But Gouse also wanted to bolster the point fund for an expanding 410 Sprint Car schedule after a successful 2024 campaign for the division.
Mission accomplished.
A year ago, the RV 4-Wheel Drive and Performance Automotive 410 Sprint Car point fund paid out $17,000. The total has ballooned to $20,000 this year, a 17% percent increase over last season thanks to all the sponsors stepping up in 2025 including RV-4 Wheel Drive & Performance Automotive, Denk Electric, Emory Transmission and Specialty Rigging Company.
“The 410 Sprint Car shows did really well last year,” Gouse said. “The car counts were the best they’ve been since we had the speedway, and we appreciate the support of the teams.
“Thanks to our sponsors, we were able to put together a good point fund for the races last year. Seeing the support we got; we wanted to up that going into this year and make it bigger and better for our teams.”
Danny Dietrich earned $5,000 last year for securing the championship. It will pay the same to win the title in 2025, but Gouse and the management team have spread more money down through the order.
In fact, the $3,000 is being distributed from fourth to 10th in the order. Fourth increased by $300 over last year, with fifth and sixth bumping up $350 and $400, respectively. Seventh through 10th were increased by $500.
“Putting together the point fund for this year, we thought it was important to take care of the teams down through the order,” Gouse said. “The top guys are winning more money on a race-by-race basis, but for the sport to thrive, you need to give back to the smaller teams, as well.
“I think we have put together a solid point fund, especially when you consider it’s only 10 races. This is the second year we’ve had this in place, and we hope to keep growing it in the future.”
The first race in the series takes place this Sunday on Providence Motorsports and Partners Night, which also features the 358 Sprints. Hot-lap time trials begin at 3:15, with heats going off at 4 p.m.
There will be a pair of 410 Sprint Car programs on April 13 and April 27. The latter show will also feature the 358 Modifieds and a 410 Non-Winner’s Race.
The 410 Sprints and PASS 305 Sprints will highlight the May 18 show before the 410 Sprints and Super Sportsman take center stage on June 8.
Pennsylvania Speedweek visits BAPS Motor Speedway on June 29 before the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series roll into town on July 23. The Outlaws show is a non-point event for the locals.
Things pick up again on August 24 with 410 Sprints and PASS 305 Sprints. September is highlighted by the Kevin Gobrecht Classic paying $10,000 to win on September 20. The Britton Finkenbinder Memorial takes place October 25, and the prestigious Sprint Showdown caps the season on November 15.
“We’ve worked hard on building these 410 Sprint Car programs, and the teams and fans have responded with a lot of support,” Gouse said. “None of this would be possible without the drivers and teams showing up to race and the fans purchasing tickets to see our events.
“Last year’s success led us to the decision to add a couple of more races in 2025. We want to continue to build on that success for years to come, and adding to the point fund is a good way to start.”
