Dellinger Wins Number 2 on the season.

YORK HAVEN, Pa.: There were a couple of obstacles for Scott Dellinger to overcome in Saturday night’s Super Sportsman main event at BAPS Motor Speedway.

Kenny Edkin slipped past Dellinger and appeared to be on his way to another victory through the middle and late stages of the 25-Lap feature. Things changed when Edkin broke, which handed the lead back to Dellinger.

But the former BAPS Motor Speedway champion wasn’t in the clear. He had a steering issue thanks to contact with a lapped car and didn’t know if he was going to make it to the finish.

Dellinger got it done. The last five laps were tricky, but the Lewisberry, Pa., ace nursed it under the checkered flag and captured the Super Sportsman main event on Chad Baker Plumbing Ladies Night.

“I started to smell something coming from Kenny’s car about two or three laps before he broke, and I knew something wasn’t right in front of me,” Dellinger said after the win.

“I was a little nervous when the lapped car changed lanes on the frontstretch, and we made contact. After that, the steering was messed up in the corners, and I was just holding on to make it to the end.”

Dellinger grabbed the lead at the outset, but Edkin wrestled it away on the 11th circuit and appeared to be in line for another win. Unfortunately for the Marysville, Pa., driver, his motor expired on Lap 20.

With five laps to go, Dellinger was out front. The only thing he had to worry about was nursing his car to the finish, something he managed to do in taking the win by .849 seconds over Chris Meleason.

Jay Fannasy completed the podium. Matt Ondek and Brock Hammaker completed the top five in the 22-car field.

In Limited Late Model action, Lane Snook took the lead at the halfway point and claimed the victory in the 20-Lap affair.

Snook started fourth on the grid and took his time getting to the front. He chased down early leader Travis Mease and grabbed the top spot on Lap 11. When Snook took the checker, he was a hefty 3.395 seconds ahead of the field.

Scott Palmer, Wayne Pfeil, Mease, and Tommy Slanker completed the top five in the 24-car features-only main event.

Bryce Bashore orchestrated some late-race heroics to capture the 20-Lap 602 Crate Modified feature. It was the first appearance of the season for the division.

Ryan Maher started on the pole and took the lead at the start. Ryan Simmons, who started third, had the lead by the third circuit and led through Lap 17 before Bashore made the winning pass.

Simmons settled for second, with Steve Davis, Jesse Leiby, and Mike Schane completing the top five.

Patrick McClane topped the field in the 20-Lap Superior Homes Extreme Stock main over Doug Hoffman, David Dietz, Presley Almoney, and Hunter Whitcomb. Conner Cantwell won the Classic Car feature.
