Speedway owner Scott Gobrecht, along with general manager Kolten Gouse, have brought back the Pick Five contest, which allows fans the opportunity to test their prognostication and possibly make a little money in 2018.
The contest, which will be sponsored by SprintCarUnlimited.com, will pay $150 to any fan who can select the top-five finishers in order during any Super Sportsman or Sprint Car A-Main. If more than one fan can select the top five in the same night, the prize will be split between the winners.
“We want to continue to provide fans with a fun, exciting, and interactive racing program,” Gouse said. “This gives fans a chance to test their skill, cheer on drivers, and maybe even make a little money.
“I want to thank SprintCarUnlimited.com for stepping up to sponsor this contest. Jeremy Elliott, who owns the site, has come on board to sponsor the seven Sprint Car events at the speedway, and we appreciate him adding to his commitment.”
SprintCarUnlimited.com is a website devoted to the coverage of Sprint Car racing across the country. The site features breaking news, features, a weekly podcast, results, and more for an affordable price.
To purchase a subscription to SprintCarUnlimited.com, go to the website. A one-year membership is $50 and also includes a free T-Shirt. A six-month subscription is $35, with a one-month membership costing $8.
“It’s an honor to be associated with BAPS Motor Speedway,” Elliott said. “I remember playing the Pick Five as a kid, and I could never figure out why it went away at some of the local speedways.
“This gives me a chance to bring back an interesting addition to the racing program and give back to fans.”
The new management team is going into its third year at the speedway. The 2018 opener will take place March 24 and feature the Super Sportsman, Legends and practice sessions for the Late Models and Street Stocks. Start time is 6 p.m.
