BAPS RAISES $10,000 FOR FALLEN/INJURED OFFICERS
York Haven:
BAPS Motor Speedway and many of the Susquehanna Valley community are uniting to raise funds and provide support for the families of three police officers who were killed and two others who were wounded in an incident at a North Codorus Township Farm on Sept. 17.
BAPS Motor Speedway held a driver helmet collection on September 20 where fans and teams were able to walk around the event and collect donations that night. After the race event the speedway continued to receive support from the local community and donations were taken at the speedway office.
A total of $10,000 has been raised for the fallen and injured officers.
“What we witnessed from the fans at BAPS and the entire racing community was nothing short of incredible.
The way everyone stepped up to support the Northern York County Regional Police Department and the York County Sheriff’s Office shows exactly what this community is made of. Time and again, the racing community proves its unwavering support for our brothers and sisters in blue. The outpouring of compassion and generosity for the families affected by this terrible tragedy is a true testament to that. Thank you for standing together and showing the strength of this amazing community.” Said Lt. Braxton Ditty From Newberrytown Police Department
“We are a very small part of the community, and we can't thank everyone enough who has donated so much to these police officers and their families. “Said General Manager Kolten Gouse. “The overwhelming response from race fans, teams, sponsors, workers and neighbors just shows how powerful the bond is and more importantly the appreciation that they all have for our police officers in Pennsylvania.
The Speedway encourages everyone to continue to donate and support these families. Donations should be sent to the official donation portal, HONOR THEIR SERVICE to support the families of both the fallen and injured officers. This was organized by the NYCRPD in partnership with the YORK COUNTY SAFETY COLLAB.
