BAPS Motor Speedway
THEN & NOW PART 7
Since 1954, BAPS Motor Speedway has been serving up some of the closest and most exciting racing in central Pennsylvania. What started as a dream of founder Bud Bricker has grown into a cherished experience for generations of families, friends and racing lovers from all over the country.
The transformation of BAPS Motor Speedway shown in the above photos as what was then Susquehanna Speedway and the 2015 sprint showdown marked the final race for track owner Todd Fisher as sprint cars started to line up for heat race number one. The next photo 10 years later shows nearly an unrecognizable Susquehanna Speedway and the transformation not just with the name of the speedway but everything in the photo has been replaced or changed. The event which takes place every November continues to be a huge event on the east coast and features 410 Sprint Cars, Modifieds and Enduro 50.
Over the next few weeks, we will take our fans, teams and partners on a journey on how the speedway has stood the test of time and risen from the ashes.
Journey #1:

A follow up photo from the 2025 Sprint Showdown as Sprint cars are being called for heat races.
“Today is about progress, and one of the things that I am most excited about today is the fact that this shows that in this community we have the heart, we have the passion, we have the foresight, we have the wisdom, we have the vision to do big things.” Said General Manager Kolten Gouse
