THEN & NOW PART 8

Since 1954, BAPS Motor Speedway has been serving up some of the closest and most exciting racing in central Pennsylvania. What started as a dream of founder Bud Bricker has grown into a cherished experience for generations of families, friends and racing lovers from all over the country.

The transformation of BAPS Motor Speedway shown in the above photos is hard to imagine that 10 years later it would be a night and day difference. The infield concession stands which at one time was the main concession stand for the weekly race teams that pitted in the infield. The Coor’s Light scoreboard which was a standard at many speedways was eventually replaced by a modern state of the art videoboard for fans and teams to view. In the bottom of photo, you can see the start of a grass infield at BAPS Motor Speedway which was used in 2025 for race fans during 410 shows, was ironically the last racetrack in the area that didn't have spectators in the infield.
Over the next few weeks, we will take our fans, teams and partners on a journey on how the speedway has stood the test of time and risen from the ashes.
