BAPS Motor Speedway
Carnival Returns with Food Festival Plus Racing
YORK HAVEN, Pa.: Over the last five years, BAPS Motor Speedway has upped its commitment to being a multi-purpose entertainment facility that has a footprint in the community.
Motorsports is still the main component of the business platform, but the management team at the York Haven, Pa., facility understands there are other pieces needed for success. That other piece of the pie is bringing neighbors together.
General Manager Kolten Gouse and his team are doing that again next season by hosting a carnival that runs in conjunction with racing events. The event will take place May 7-10, with racing taking place at Mcgrewbid Motoplex on May 7 and BAPS Motor Speedway on May 9.
“We are excited to continue to grow these community events that are centered around our racing at BAPS Motor Speedway,” Gouse said. “It’s a good way to bring the community together with multiple forms of entertainment.
“It’s really a dual promotion. The carnival also gives an opportunity to continue working on bringing new fans to the speedway and expose them to our facility. That is a key to making motorsports grow.”
The carnival will feature food trucks, fireworks, new vendors, and a variety of activities for families to enjoy. Throw in two nights of racing, and there is plenty to do for people of all ages.
Mcgrewbid Motoplex will host a Thursday program of Winged 600s, Wingless, 600s, Micros, Junior Sprints, and Outlaw Karts. Two nights later, the FK Rod Ends Features Only presented by the York Revolution show takes place. The event will be highlighted by the Super Sportsman, 358 Late Models, Legends, and Extreme Stocks.
“This is an event we look forward to every year,” Gouse said. “Last year was the first time we had a carnival, and it was well received by everyone involved. We are looking forward to another good event this year.”
