2026 Super Sportsman Preview
Even though the 2025 racing season has come to an end the off season has already started to heat up, and race fans and teams are already looking forward to the 2026 racing season. The super sportsman division which has always been known for tough competition and great racing will start off the season on Saturday March 7 with the Tyson Fence Season Opener. Scott Dellinger is the defending winner of the race and will have stiff competition and drivers looking to dethrone the champion. He is a preview of drivers to watch heading into the 2026 racing season!
Scott Dellinger
The 2025 Racing season was one for the record books for the Dellinger Motorsports team, not only did they win both the GA Smith Towing Baps Motor Speedway Track Title, but Scott Claimed another Tour championship. The season saw 3 feature wins including the Super Sportsman 100 trophy and an amazing 14 top 10 finishes in 14 features at BAPS Motor Speedway. Not sure how the 2026 could get much better for this team but during the offseason will bring a lot of preparation and fine tuning in the shop and this team will look to start off the season opener the way they did in 2025.
Kenny Edkin
After rattling off three consecutive track titles from 2022-2024 at BAPS Motor Speedway, this team had high hopes going into the 2025 season with securing another title and a sportsman 100 victory. Unfortunately, DNFS plagued this team during the season and the biggest race of them all while leading. Despite finishing 3rd in the final standings, Kenny Edkin and the crew were able to secure 4 feature wins and 11 top 10 finishes in 14 events at BAPS. Look for the 2026 season to start off strong and the #75 car will be a favorite to watch.
John Edkin
The “Marysville Missile" was back in victory lane on May 31 during Hall of Fame night when he parked the #35 super sportsman after ending a 5-year winless drought. John Edkin ended the season 5th in the final standings and recorded 9 top 10 finishes and 5 top 5 finishes in 14 features this year. The Marysville driver has lots of speed in the 35 super sportsman and look for him to grab several feature wins next season.
Jay Fannasy
There is no doubt that Jay Fannasy did not want the 2025 season to come to an end. Since 2020 Jay Fannasy has moved up in the final standings each year with two 7th place finishes (2020,2021) , came back in 2022 and finished 5th in the standings and the last 2 seasons finished 3rd in the final standings (2023,2024), But the 2025 season was different…. Jay Fannasy ended a 4-year win drought by picking up the win on June 29 During Pennsylvania Speedway, Ran 2nd in the Super Sportsman 100 from 14th and picked up a tour series win at Clinton County Speedway and ended 2nd in the final standings. If Jay can start the 2026 season off the way he ended 2025, Not only is he going to win more races but he very well could get his first track title as a driver.
Matt Ondek
Matt Ondek has continued to improve in the standings each year, 6th in 2022 backed it up with a 5th in the stands in both 2023 & 2024 racing season and concluded the 2025 racing season in 4th in the standings. The 2025 season seemed a little off for the Carlisle Driver but consistency at the end of the season was enough to push him to his best finish in the standings to date.
Timmie Barrick
The Driver known at the “Bandit”, If there was one driver in the pit area that prolly did not want to see the 2025 racing season come to an end it's this driver. The 2025 season crushed all of his previous stats and as the season progressed this Driver began to heat up. Over the last 5 years Timmie Barrick only finished in the top 10 in points once which was back in 2019, But man did he start to prove people wrong in 2025. Timmie Barrick Ended the season in the division 8th in the final points standings, but in his last three races of the season he finished 2nd, 4th, and 5th and more importantly ran a heck of a race in the Super Sportsman 100 before a mechanical problem. The moral of the story…. If Timmie Barrick starts off the 2026 season the way he ended 2025 not only is he going to win some races next year but look for this driver & team to sneak into the top 5 in season points.
Chad Baker:
Chad Baker enters his 4th season behind the wheel of the Chad Baker Plumbing & heating, Sierra Madre number 11 Super Sportsman. Coming in the 2026 season Chad has moved up in the standings each year and in 2025 recorded his best season to date with the Winged Super Sportsman with a 19th place finish in the standing but more importantly 4 top 10 finishes in 6 races that he ran. Look for a big Jump in the standings in 2026.
Ryan Rutz
The 2026 Season will be a breakout season for this driver from Mechanicsburg Pennsylvania. Ryan Rutz will enter his 7th full time season in the winged super sportsman divisions and has improved in the standing each year except in 2022 when he missed most of the season due to work overseas. The 2024 season Ryan finished 13th in the standings and despite some challenging luck in 2025 Ryan Rutz was able to finish out the season matching 13th in the final standings. Since the season is over Ryan has purchased a new race car and look for top 5 finishes coming his way in 2026.
Blake Brooks
The 2025 season was a rough one for the New Kingston Driver, Motor problems kept this driver on the sidelines almost 85% of the season but when the driver was on the track and more importantly when he was in other people's cars he was able to post 3 top 10 finishes out of 5 races in 2025. The 2026 season should be very exciting to watch. If Blake can start the season the way he ended it, look for this driver to get his first Super Sportsman win and contend with the top drivers.
Jamie Rickert
The driver from Duncannon will enter her 7th season behind the wheel of the number 21 super sportsman at BAPS Motor Speedway. Since joining the speedway during the 2020 season where she finished 24th in the final standings, every year she has moved up in the standings with her best season coming this year. Jamie Rickert Posted her best season to date with an 11th in the final standings and had her best season on the track with 4 top 10 finishes in 12 starts. The confidence of this driver and working with her dad on the race car look for Jamie to get her first top 5 finish and possibly sneak into the top 10 of the final point standings in 2026.
