Super Sportsman Drivers Ready for 2026

YORK HAVEN, Pa.: A racing season can be exciting, but also long and sometimes nerve-racking. It depends on how many wins a driver gets, mechanical woes, bad luck, or even something as simple as performance in the last race.

Regardless, nothing replaces the adrenaline of climbing the wheel and ripping around BAPS Motor Speedway at speed. It’s why these teams do it … the passion and love for the sport keep them coming back.

That’s the case again in 2026. The BAPS Motor Speedway management team has put together a schedule for the Super Sportsman division, the headliner again next season. It consists of 20 shows that have drivers anxious to get back after it on March 7th in the Bob Conley Season Opener presented by Tyson Fence Company.

“I am excited to get back to BAPS with the Super Sportsman,” said Chad Baker, a Super Sportsman regular at the speedway. “Having grown up at Silver Spring Speedway, that division has always put on good racing and had plenty of passing.

“I’m ready to turn some laps in 2026 and to have the opportunity to run these cars. I’m looking forward to Cheater’s Night, as it gives the teams a chance to think out of the box and try stuff.”

The season opener, which is in memory of long-time Rock-It Pizza owner Bob Conley, has been a staple in kicking the season off. A year ago, Scott Dellinger, of Lewisberry, picked up his first victory in the event and used it as a springboard to two more victories and a track championship.

Along with a much-anticipated season opener, the Super Sportsman have other prestigious events. The Dellinger’s Auto Body Firecracker 40 on July 4th and the Fine Line Auto Body 52nd annual Gary Wolford Super Sportsman 100 on September 5th are two of the premier events at the speedway.

The Super Sportsman will also be paired with the 410 Sprint Cars in select shows, as well as headline the Saturday night programs. Here are what other drivers are saying about the upcoming season at BAPS Motor Speedway.

Blake Brooks: “I am really looking forward to being back in a Super Sportsman this year. It’s a great division to develop in as a driver, and we found some good speed last year toward the end of the season. It makes me really excited to get 2026 started.”

Alan Hallman: “I’ve grown up around racing my entire life, and more importantly in the Super Sportsman division at Silver Spring Speedway. This racing thing is all about family and friends, and there is nothing better than going to BAPS on a Saturday night with those people.”

Vaughn Williams: “I plan to be a car-owner this year and have rookie driver Joey Gabner take the wheel behind our family Sportsman car. I’m really looking forward to seeing a driver learn and grow in the winged Super Sportsman division at BAPS.”

Ryan Rutz: “I was there helping to tear down vines on the catch fences a couple of years ago, and to see where the facility is today, it just makes you want to come and race at BAPS. I am excited for the 2025 season. We made big changes this offseason, and now we can send it.”
