Good Cause Fuels BAPS 358 Sprint Car Excitement
YORK HAVEN, Pa.: There is a common theme with scheduling at BAPS Motor Speedway. It’s diversity and creating awareness, both in motorsports and in the community.
That continues in 2026 with the 358 Sprint Car division. A year ago, there were three events featuring the class on the schedule, and now that is expanding for a good cause.
The 358 Sprints will visit the speedway an unprecedented seven times during the upcoming season as part of a series that will bring awareness to teenage suicide. Clair Finkenbinder is the driving force behind the initiative in an effort keep the memory of his son Britton alive and shine light on this worthy cause.
"Racing for outreach would like to thank the wingless sportsman for their support. We look forward to the 2026 season with the 358 sprints helping us to raise suicide and mental health awareness," said Clair Finkenbinder
“It’s an honor to be able to continue this cause,” Speedway officials said. “Clair and his family have been a big part of the speedway, and we look forward to helping them spread the word about suicide through various programs.
“We are also happy to have the 358 Sprints become a major part of what Clair is doing. They have put on some great races in the past, and we are looking forward to more of them as they become a bigger part of the speedway.”
"I'm really excited and stoked to put this deal together with the 358 sprint car series, to be a part of raising awareness with the racing for outreach and helping this class was a no brainer," said Bill Mickley
The first appearance for the 358 Sprints will be March 29th with the 410 Sprint Cars. They will also be in the card May 17th, May 23rd, August 1st, August 22nd, and October 9th. The series finale will be the Britton Finkenbinder Memorial on October 24th.
Thanks to Mickley’s Orchard & Farm Racing for Outreach Series, there will be a $6,750 point fund for the seven races. The winner will bank $1,250, with second taking home $825. Third through fifth will be $700, $600, and $500. The point fund will pay the top 15 spots.
Along with races and a point fund, BAPS Motor Speedway and Finkenbinder will be involved in two community events at local schools to raise awareness about suicide.
“Suicide is an issue that has affected so many families across central Pennsylvania and the United States,” Gouse said. “It goes far beyond racing, and we are happy to be a small part of this cause, and hopefully, make a difference.”
