Alan Kreitzer & Family Named Grand Marshals for Silver Spring Speedway Throwback Night
BAPS Motor Speedway will host an inaugural event as it brings the past back to life with Silver Spring Speedway Throwback Night on Saturday, June 20. This special evening will celebrate the history and legacy of one of Central Pennsylvania’s most beloved dirt tracks, giving fans a chance to relive the glory days at a new home.
Silver Spring Speedway, which closed in 2005, left behind decades of unforgettable memories for drivers, teams, and fans. From thrilling races to legendary competitors, the track played a major role in shaping the region’s racing culture, and this event aims to honor that lasting impact.
Alan Kreitzer and his family will be recognized as Grand Marshals for the night, highlighting their dedication and contributions to the speedway over the years. Their presence will serve as a tribute to the many individuals who helped keep the spirit of Silver Spring Speedway alive.
“We are happy to participate in this special evening. For over 50 years Silver Spring Speedway provided great racing action in a unique family atmosphere. We are pleased to honor former drivers, car owners and officials that made it all possible,” said Alan Kreitzer
Joining them will be longtime employees who were an essential part of race day operations, including head flagman Randy Eichelberger, assistant flagman Bob Zook, along with track officials Rich Canulli and Russ Shutt. Together, they will help make this throwback night a meaningful reunion for the entire racing community.
The event will highlight the three major divisions featuring the Super Sportsman, Late Models and Extreme Stocks. Fans can head to www.bapsmotorspeedway.com to purchase tickets ahead of time.
