BAPS Motor Speedway
Palmer, Edkin, Ott and Updegraff all claim wins on ARCH night.
FK Rod Ends “Start Them All” Features presented by the York Revolution delivered another exciting night of racing on Saturday, May 9 at BAPS Motor Speedway. The Super Sportsman feature saw John Edkin jump out front early and control the opening 11 laps as he worked through traffic and held off a strong field behind him. Fans were treated to a competitive battle throughout the event as multiple drivers searched for speed around the speedway.
Third-starting Kenny Edkin continued to close the gap on the leader and made the winning move after chasing down John Edkin just past the halfway point. Once out front, Kenny Edkin was able to maintain the lead and drive away to capture another Super Sportsman feature victory in front of the packed crowd. The race showcased the depth of talent in the division with several drivers battling throughout the top ten positions all night long.
One of the most impressive runs of the evening came from Barry Thomas, who charged from the 15th starting position to finish seventh at the checkered flag. Thomas worked his way through traffic all feature long and earned the Hard Charger honors for his performance. The Super Sportsman division once again proved why it continues to be one of the fan favorite classes at BAPS Motor Speedway.
The Legend Car feature produced an exciting battle throughout the field as drivers raced side-by-side for position on Saturday night at BAPS Motor Speedway. Eighth-starting Jeremy Ott steadily worked his way toward the front before taking control of the race on lap 12. Once Ott grabbed the lead, he never looked back and drove away from the competition to score an impressive feature victory after charging through the talented field.
In the Limited Stock feature, Scott Palmer put together a dominant performance against a stout 27-car field. Palmer started on the pole position and led every lap from start to finish to claim another feature win. Despite multiple challenges and heavy traffic throughout the race, Palmer stayed smooth and consistent to complete the wire-to-wire victory in front of the BAPS Motor Speedway fans.
The Extreme Stock division once again delivered one of the most competitive races of the night as Alex Updegraff and Evan Foust battled intensely for the top spot. The two drivers traded momentum throughout the feature before Updegraff was able to gain the advantage late in the race. Updegraff went on to capture the victory after an exciting duel with Foust, adding another memorable chapter to the growing rivalry within the division.
